The Chestnut/Paes descriptions feel too generic and don’t explain the underlying pathology to me. I think as an internist, I’m used to getting under the hood and looking upstream for my healing advice, not just treating a manifestation. I think working with the neuroses of the dom and Blindspot are the path to healing and that will look different depending on stack, wing, and trifix.

@EnneagramBlindspots :It makes more sense to me that his fourish tendencies come from his four fix and he’s very Sixey as well. Hard for me to explain the SO excessive attention by saying he’s SX dom. SO distracts him from his SX energy all the time. SO stress is what takes him to his stress arrow of 6 too.

Yes! This is why Drew thought he was SX dom for a long time, but that’s not actually what I think is going on. I think when Drew and I are together we’re acting from our SX instincts, so he looks like an SX9, but the issues we get hung up on are SP for me and SO for him because that is where we can be neurotic. It only makes sense that in sexual relationships you look like the SX description of your type, but is that how the person is showing up MOST of the time? What program runs their life?

The sexual Nine can look like a heart type, like a Four, sometimes a Two. The focus is on relationship, on push-pull dynamics. They’re sensitive to connection and it can be very hard for them to disconnect, even if the relationship isn’t going well. They tend not to be very assertive. A sexual subtype is usually seen as someone who’s intense, a little more assertive or aggressive, but it looks very different in the sexual Nine. They tend to be very sweet, kind, gentle, and they have a hard time
